– Siwomat is a post-punk/noise-rock band based in Berlin. They are a duo, but I heard were in three. I listen to them and I think of Santiago Durango. Dig, dig! They will warm up at the Matinee just before starting their new Europe tour!

– Melmann is a musician and a storyteller from Argentina currently on tour in Europe. Melmann poetic and abstract sound-narratives explore the border between radio-play, ethnic, and ambient music.
For more than 10 years the Argentine musician has been developing his audiovisual project all over the world.
A multi-instrumentalist, Melmann creates sonic collages by looping folk ethnic instruments (crystal harp, Bawu, Koto, lyre, percussion etc.), electronics, field recordings, spoken word, and visuals. The result is an emotional and contemplative immersive soundscape where melody and experimentation come together.

If 2019 was a bit of a weird year for the Sunday Matinee with several change of venues, a few months skipped, etc. …And let’s be honest, since we saw beloved XB Liebig going we never really recovered from it.
Saying that, 2020 looks promising. We found a beautiful new home at Villa Kuriosum, which lays right on the border between Friedrichshain and Lichtenberg. Villa Kuriosum is cozy and spacious, there’s a nice and loud PA, a nice bar and and an awesome garden for the summer.
So, we’re back, new place, new energy, new lovers, new year, new bands, new taco receipts and a bloody exciting lineup!

We invite you to participate in the ninth session of Majelis that will be
held at:
Date : Wednesday, 22 January 2020
Time : 15:00 WIB
Venue : Gedung B7,FBS Unnes, Semarang
Majelis is an improvisation session held periodically to facilitate spontaneous meeting between musicians from different background that have never played together before. These sessions aim to explore improvisation as a response towards sounds found in our everyday life. Inspired by Kombo (Yogyakarta), Majelis sees improvisation as an element that can be found in all kinds of music and other art forms.
In each session, three to five participant will be divided randomly into smaller groups. Artists who comes from non-musical background like literature, performance art, dance, and visual arts can also participate in these sessions. Majelis are not limited to artists from Semarang, performers from other cities or countries can also participate. The documentation of each sessions (photos, audio recording, video recording) will be archived and can be freely accessed from online streaming channels.
