Here we go again, this time 4 deadly acts from 4pm.
This is possibly going to be our last matinee of the year at IE, as our beloved home will close for the winter. We’ll sure find a place to crash, no need to pull that face.
So, X4 this time: 2 bands on tour, Fabbri from Italia and Mord Fuzztang from Swisslandia + 2 superinteresting locals, Matching Outfits and Grizzly Bird.
In no particular order:
Fabbri, Italian Crack Pop in the vein of say, Itaca -the Berlin band, but I guess with a different kind of tong in cheek humour… saying that, I’m still waiting for a real blurb. Meanwhile you can sample some of his music here:
Grizzly Bird infuses lush orchestration into raw storytelling verve by adding evocative lyricism and dreamy, fingerpicked reverie.
Due for release in 2019 through Berlin’s Gold Watch Records, “Empathy” is Grizzly Bird’s debut release: a conceptual international journey that imagines tales from the minds of the animal kingdom, pulsing with electro-tinged chorales and unhurried narratives – the sonic culmination of songwriter Hans Gnendinger’s Bavarian roots through the scrim of Berlin’s sonic underground.

Matching Outfits is a Berlin-based trio helmed by singer-songwriter Linnea Mårtensson. Her melodic Casio-led songs are augmented by bass, drums, guitar and sun-streaked harmonies, courtesy of bandmates Rachel Glassberg and Leah Corper. Bright twee pop and wistful ballads backdrop Mårtensson’s softly-sung Nordic-accented vocals.
